ERASMUS+ PROGRAM
The Erasmus+ Exchange Program is an European Union program to encourage higher education institutions to cooperate with each other. This program, which is part of the “Lifelong Learning Programme-LLP” of the European Union Education and Youth Programs, enables higher education institutions to exchange students and academicians with each other for short time periods. The activities for which grant support is provided in the field of higher education under the Erasmus+ Program are as follows: Under Learning Mobility of Individuals (KA1); Learning Mobility of Higher Education Students and Staff, Joint Master's Degrees, Credit Guarantee for Master's Students and Cooperation for Innovation and Good Practice Exchange (KA2); Strategic Partnerships, Knowledge Partnerships, Special Action and Jean Monnet Program.
The Department of History regularly sends students abroad and receives students from abroad by conducting educational exchanges for both undergraduate and graduate students within the scope of the Erasmus+ Exchange Program. Students of the Department of History, who benefit from the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ Program, have the opportunity to study in multicultural environments, make international friends, get to know the city and country they go to closely and improve their foreign language skills.

FARABİ PROGRAM
The Student and Faculty Member Exchange Program among Higher Education Institutions, shortly called “Farabi Exchange Program”, is an exchange program for students and academicians among higher education institutions that provide education at associate, undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels within universities and institutes of high technology.
Farabi Exchange Program aims for students or academicians to continue their education and training activities in a higher education institution outside their home institution for one or two semesters.
The principles regarding the implementation of the Farabi Exchange Program are detailed in the Regulation and Principles and Procedures.

Mevlana Exchange Program (MED) is a student and academician exchange program funded by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) of the Republic of Turkey. For both incoming students/faculty members and outgoing students/faculty members, scholarships/allowances are provided by YÖK within the within the amounts determined by country (You can visit mevlana.yok.gov.tr for scholarship and allowance amounts).
The MED Protocols include all countries of the world besides the countries of the European Union. Istanbul University joined MED for the first time in the 2014-2015 academic year and signed a total of 46 MED protocols from 17 different countries.
